Who We Are

Almubarak Waqf Foundation (AWF) is an endowment (Waqf) dedicated to the welfare and betterment of the Muslim community in Nigeria. The Foundation focuses on fostering such a community that promotes unity and development for the common good and provides effective educational initiatives that offer knowledge and skills alongside working towards the cultivation of a spiritual togetherness pivotal in eradicating poverty. The Foundation, AWF, is the managing agent with fiduciary duties over the assets generated by its commercial enterprises, donations, contributions, and endowments.

Islamic NGO

We are an Islamic based nongovernmental organization guided solely by the Quran and
Sunnah, (Almaqasid Shariah) while we promote cultural values and development goals
that are not in contrast with Shariah. We promote waqf as a veritable social finance tool in accordance with the shariah to help alleviate poverty and develop the ummah by building institutions of learning, supporting the needy, promoting micro-financing, and enhance entrepreneurial skills for youth empowerment. We also engage in the e-collection and distribution of zakat with a mandate of ensuring that it gets to the most qualified as enshrined in shariah. We are also partners with various stakeholders in ensuring that social vices do not thrive in our society and support the sustainable development goals in all our activities.

Catalyst For Change

We understand that everyone wants change, but we also understand that no one wants to change because it is difficult. We at Al Mubarak have decided to make the bold move to represent the majority to ignite the needed change for a better society. We have a robust team comprising of professionals from different phases of life in a voluntary capacity. Adhoc and full-time employment, together with your support we would strive for the yearning change of the ummah. We appreciate it would indeed be challenging and difficult, but achievable Insha, Allah.

Almubarak Waqf represents the face of hope, we want to be an institution that would give hope to the hopeless, vie to the voiceless, and help the helpless within the limits of peace and harmony. Our goal is to provide a foundation that would encourage and motivate other initiatives.

Our History

Almubarak Waqf Foundation (AWF), is non-governmental organization which started in 2001, commenced operations with registration of a business name called “Almubarak Engineering Company” in 2006. It was subsequently incorporated with the name Almubarak Waqf Foundation as a non-profit, non-governmental organization on September 4, 2019, CAC/IT/NO 134468. This noble idea and initiative were conceived by its founder, Abba Salihi, dating back to the year 2001
